Originally hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Macey first began raving in 1995. Inspired by the many clubs and outdoor doof parties Melbourne had to offer, he started DJing in ’98, shortly before setting off to see the world.
Arriving in London in April ’99 just as dance music was exploding, he soon started up his own events, with Torque, Quake and Warped becoming popular long-running underground parties. With residences at Spin and Carnage, Macey was soon playing regularly across London – including the infamous Finger Party warehouse squat parties around West London for many years.
Having established a foothold in the London underground scene, it wasn’t long before Macey started looking further afield and after visiting Ibiza in 2001, his trips to the Spanish party island become an annual adventure. As Ibizan Heat Resident from 2003–9, then more recently playing on the epic Xstatic Ibiza tours from 2014-2025, he’s certainly made his mark.
On top his Ibiza residency, Macey has had the privilege of playing some other awesome international gigs, from his native Australia to Thailand, Holland, Brazil, Ukraine, NZ and the US. More recently he has been teaming up with Skol, joining him on his long running Tank Funk It’s Friday show which is streamed on GQ Radio on Friday afternoons.
He’s also very pleased to accept the dj residency with Vinyl Warriors at the beginning of 2021. Residencies are like rocking horse shit when times are good, in times like these its a golden opportunity to keep gigging to a dance floor, which is what he loves most.
As his international gigs continue to grow, Macey has also starting to focus on spending some time in the studio – so watch this space as it’s looking like the roaring ‘20s are going to be his best decade yet!
