From the sweat-soaked dancefloors of Bagleys to the underground pulse of South London pirate radio, Shaf De Bass has lived and breathed the UK's electronic music evolution. Growing up during acid house's explosive birth, he cut his teeth on the scene that would define a generation.
With deep roots in record distribution, he spent countless hours at legendary spots like Choci's Choons in Soho, Kinetic Records on Little Portland Street, Pendragon Records on Coldharbour Lane, and Blackmarket Records, absorbing knowledge from every corner of the underground. From mastering UK garage on Flex FM's airwaves to enjoying scratch battles in South London bedrooms, his education was the streets themselves.
This diverse musical DNA flows through every set - expect chunky techno-trance vibes, hard house energy, and seamless transitions that only come from years of vinyl dedication. As founder of Oblivion Recordings, de Bass has nurtured underground talent whilst collaborating with various artists, resulting in multiple releases on labels including Fevah Records and compilations such as Hard Kandy, Melbourne.
Having held multiple residencies around Brixton - his largest and favourite being Logic at The Fridge - de Bass was also a resident at Hardware (the official Frantic afterparty) and ran his own celebrated Oblivion events. He brings that rare combination of technical skill and underground credibility that can't be taught - only earned through decades on the frontlines of UK dance music.
When de Bass takes control, expect a journey through sound that's equal parts nostalgic and forward-thinking, delivered with an element of funk and finesse of someone who's truly lived this culture.
