Giampiero ‘Jay’ Mastino has been DJing and producing for over two decades under various
aliases, including Jay OM, Journey, Omsphere, Sonic Wave Control, OmTheory (with
M-Theory), Star Trip, The Wayfarers, and in collaboration with Japanese maestro Cylon as Keewl.

In January 2019, he unified his solo projects Jay OM, Journey, and Omsphere under the single stage name JourneyOM. His first EP under this name, Five Grams, was released on Free-Spirit Records on January 20, 2020

Musical Journey

Jay’s roots trace back to psychedelic rock, playing guitar in Milan’s local bars. His DJ career
began in the late ‘80s at a local radio station, where he first experimented with mixing records. After moving to London in 1998, he turned professional as Jay OM in 1999. In 2001-2002, he studied Sound Engineering and Music Technology at IMW, London, before launching his solo production projects: Journey (2003) Omsphere (2009) Sonic Wave Control (2011) Keewl (2016, with Cylon) OmTheory (2019, with M-Theory)

With a signature sound and global presence, Jay has played at festivals and parties in over 40 countries across five continents.

Beyond Music: Film & Mastering

In 2018, Jay entered the film industry, composing Just a Plastic Bottle (Omsphere) for Marcia Thompson’s award - winning documentary on plastic pollution, which has won five film festival awards so far. Through Killah Mastering , he has worked on projects across multiple genres, handling
mixing and mastering for countless artists. He has
mastered nearly all of Free-Spirit Records’ 96 releases since 2005 and has been mastering for Green Tree Records since 2017

Promoter & Event Organizer

Jay is also a renowned event promoter, having organized Free- Spirit Records label parties worldwide and running Implosion events in London for eight years. Since 2012, he has been the force behind one of London’s most acclaimed Psytrance gatherings: Tribal Village – A Psychedelic Adventure
